The Pittsburgh Festival of Lights has generated so much excitement and interest from recent visitors to downtown Pittsburgh that it has been held over through July 8th.
In addition, two new lighting designs have recently been introduced by Lucette de Rugy working with designer Corentine Buron. One of the new designs is at Agnes Plaza, Seventh at Penn Avenue, and is inspired by a Tiffany-like glass design. The second design at Penn Avenue Place, Stanwix Street at Penn Avenue, is referred by de Rugy as "Joyful Pittsburgh.”
Other artistic lighting installations by de Rugy's team can be found at the Omni William Penn Hotel on William Penn Placeand the back façade of the Duquesne Light building at Liberty and William Penn Place. Two lighting installations by local artist Rob Long are also featured on the corner of Ninth and Penn Avenue. Buildings are illuminated daily from approximately 9:30 p.m. to 1a.m. through July 8.

I definitely agree. I haven't been able to see it (out of the country) but the pictures look wonderful. It would be a lovely addition to our city.

Perhaps this should be a permanent feature of downtown Pittsburgh? Popular, doesn't cost much to do - already set up.
